Lake Elsinore, CA. – A pair of tape-measure home runs and a dynamite start gave the Modesto Nuts a 2-1 win over the Lake Elsinore Storm at The Diamond.

McCaughan came out to work the seventh inning and allowed a one-out single before a walk. After getting a line out to second, Eguy Rosario tied the game with a RBI single into center. McCaughan worked 6 2/3 innings and allowed one run with five strikeouts and one walk.

Jack Anderson (W, 1-1) checked in after that and stranded two inherited runners before working a perfect eighth.

Donnie Walton led the ninth inning off with a solo home run over the 36-foot high wall in right against Trevor McGill (L, 1-1).
