Rancho opened the game with a four-run first inning. Cody Thomas tripled against Adrian De Horta and Cristian Santana in the following at bat punched a two-run homer to center. The blast was Santana’s league leading 24th on the season. De Horta (0-2) allowed seven runs, four earned, over 3.2 innings in the loss.

The 66ers infield then committed three errors in the first that allowed two more unearned runs to cross. Inland Empire scored two in the first and one in the third against Edwin Uceta who tossed 3.2 innings in a no-decision.

Brandon Montgomery hit a leadoff home run in the fourth to up Rancho to a 6-3 lead and Donovan Casey added an RBI-single in the inning. The Quakes scored two more runs in the sixth on an RBI-groundout from Casey and a base hit by Jeren Kendall to lead 9-4.

The bullpen locked in behind Uceta on Saturday night. Ryan Moseley (5-3) became the pitcher of record and tossed 1.2 shutout innings in the win. Dan Jagiello and Logan Salow covered the final 3.2 innings of scoreless baseball, as Rancho cruised to the finish.
