Lake Elsinore, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino were unable to capitalize on placing runners on base in all nine innings versus the Lake Elsinore Storm on Tuesday in a 1-0 loss.

The Storm scored on Edward Olivares’ tenth homer of the season in the third accounting for the lone run of the game as Inland Empire out-hit Lake Elsinore (61-66, 27-30) by a 9-4 margin but went 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position and stranding 13 baserunners; the clubs combined to go 0-for-18 with RISP.

Erik Manoah (2-10) started for the Sixers and went five frames allowing just the homer to Olivares in the third inning. His final line was: 5.0 IP, 1H, 1ER, HBP, 4BB and 4Ks.

Reggie Lawson (7-5) allowed five hits over five frames with two walks and five Ks. Ronald BolaƱos went three innings and Travis Radke (SV, 1) tossed the final frame to secure Lake Elsinore’s seventh shutout of the year.

The ninth proved to be the culmination of the evening’s frustration for Inland Empire (64-63, 31-26) as Torii Hunter Jr. smacked a leadoff triple in the final frame and withered at third as Radke got a groundout and a pair of strikeouts to end the threat.

Richie Fecteau had a three-hit performance for the Sixers while Brandon Marsh added two hits including a double. Inland Empire’s offense was shutout for the seventh time in 2018.

The series continues in Lake Elsinore. The contest can be heard live on
