Lancaster, CA – Logan Landon knocked in all four runs on Thursday night and the Quakes escaped Lancaster with a 4-2 win, giving them two of three in the series over the JetHawks.

By winning seven of their last nine games overall, the Quakes are now just one game out of first place, behind the Lake Elsinore Storm, who saw a five-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday night against Inland Empire.

Landon slugged a three-run homer in the second, then gave the Quakes some insurance in the ninth, as he ripped a two-out triple to score Omar Estevez and make it a two-run game at 4-2.

Nolan Long, who worked around a hit in the eighth inning, struck out the side in the ninth to wrap up the win, earning his second save of the year for the Quakes.

Starting pitcher Dean Kremer was spotted the three-run lead, thanks to Landon’s sixth homer of the year in the second inning. Kremer allowed a run in the third and an unearned run in the fifth, but gave the Quakes five strong innings before the bullpen took over and shut down Lancaster over the final four frames.

Zach Pop allowed just one hit over two scoreless frames, bridging the gap between Kremer (5-2) and Long.

Lancaster starter Rico Garcia (5-7) was handed the loss, as he allowed three runs over seven innings.

The Quakes (29-31) head back to LoanMart Field on Friday, as they open a three-game series against the Inland Empire 66ers at 7:05pm. Right-hander Isaac Anderson (1-4) will throw for Rancho Cucamonga, while Inland Empire has yet to name a starter for Friday’s opener.

Friday night is Justin Turner Bobblehead Giveaway, thanks to Smile Generation, as 1,500 fans will take home a bobblehead. Gates open at 6:05pm and game time is 7:05pm. Tickets are available by calling (909) 481-5000 or online at
