College Baseball: Cal State San Bernardino Drops a Pair of Tight Ones 4-1 & 3-2 to UC San Diego Sunday


The Coyotes will Play CSU San Marcos Next Weekend at Home

LA JOLLA, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes lost a pair of tight ones at UC San Diego on Sunday afternoon, 1-4 and 2-3.

In game one, the Yotes tied the Tritons in the second when Carter Kimberly doubled down the left field line. Gabe Chavez had two of the six CSUSB hits and Tyler Williams pitched well, allowing six hits and three runs over six innings. Austyn Coleman threw a hitless inning.

The Yotes came out firing in game two, and took a 2-0 lead in the first when AJ Barraza led off with a single and Chavez stole second and scored later in the inning. The Tritons scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to snag the win. Blake Timm scattered five hits over four and two-thirds innings.

The Coyotes (13-27, 10-25 CCAA) will play CSU San Marcos next weekend at home and then away. The series begins at 6 pm on Thursday at Fiscalini Field. Live stats are on CSUSBathletics.com.
