The Coyotes Reached CCAA Semifinals in 2018
A year after reaching the CCAA Semfinals, the CSUSB Coyotes are picked to finish fourth in the 2019 CCAA Men’s Soccer Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league’s 13 head coaches.
UC San Diego (113 points) and Cal State San Bernardino (106) each picked up one first-place nod for third and fourth, respectively. Cal State LA earned eight first-place votes to total 140 points in the results. Defending CCAA regular-season and West Region champion Cal Poly Pomona takes up the second spot.
Darren Leslie, the 2018 CCAA Coach of the Year, will need to replace the output of Danny Ortiz, last season’s CCAA Offensive Player of the Year. But he returns Andres Aguirre, an All-CCAA selection among a litany of returners and impact newcomers.
The Yotes kick off the season with an exhibition at home against Azusa Pacific on August 24 at 4 pm.
