“Games against San Marcos have been close encounters for us in recent years and today was no different,” head coach Darren Leslie said. “They stood firm to everything we threw at them and on another day it could have been San Marcos that were celebrating an OT victory. In the end, it took a special goal from Frank Daroma to win the game” .

He has been one of our top performers so far this year and I was delighted personally for him to finally get off the mark. And of course, delighted that we were able to grind out a tough CCAA win on the road. We need to regroup now for another tough test Sunday”coach Leslie added.

Jacob Huber went the distance in goal for the Yotes, making four saves to earn the shutout. The Yotes came out strong with two shots on frame in the first 20 minutes and three more before the end of the half. The Yotes offense was a bit quiet until a three-shot succession led to the game winner.

The Yotes (4-1-1, 1-1 CCAA) will travel to UC San Diego on Sunday for a 2 pm match. Live links are on CSUSBathletics.com.
