College Softball: UC Riverside Wins Seventh Straight Blanking San Diego State University 6-0

Reigning Big West Pitcher of the Week, Jacy Boles, Led the Way with another Complete Game Shutout

The red hot Highlanders have now won seven in a row as the UC Riverside Softball Team shutout San Diego State on the road 6-0 Wednesday night. Reigning Big West Pitcher for the Week, Jacy Boles, led the way with another complete game shutout to earn her 7th win of the season.

The Highlanders were on the attack early loading the bases in the first inning. Junior Kayla Curtan stepped to the plate drawing a walk for the first run of the game and senior Amanda Lynch was next blasting a single through the right side to score two more and give her team a 3-0 lead.

SDSU collected hits in the first four innings, but could not string them together as Boles consistently got herself out of tight situations and stranded six Aztecs.

In the top of the 5th, UCR added another with senior Brittney Garcia notching an RBI single, and extra insurance came in the top of the 7th as freshman Sami Demyon drew a bases-loaded walk and Lynch drove in the final run on a groundout.

Lynch finished 1-for-2 with three RBI and Garcia added a 2-for-3 performance with a walk and an RBI.

UC Riverside will look to keep the win streak going this weekend when the Highlanders host the UCR Tournament.
