Located in The Canyon Lake Town Center, the Canyon Cowboy Really is a Real Hidden Gem of the Valley

The Canyon Cowboy is really is is a Hidden Culinary Gem of the Valley. The place has already established itself as one of the area’s premier entertainment venues, delivering the finest live music, comedy and craft cocktails for you to enjoy. Now we take a look at the food…which is absolutely incredible.

We were amazed and extremely pleased by the fare at the the Canyon Cowboy. There are so many outstanding dishes here and today, we started with the Spinach Dip and a cocktail. The delicious dish was a blend of fresh spinach and creamy cheese. It was served hot with crisp homemade tortilla chips.

The Sweet Red Chili Chicken Wings were next. The delightfully crispy wings were tossed in a unique sweet red chili sauce that was really amazing. You can have them with your choice of Mango Habanero, Buffalo or BBQ sauce.

The Canyon Cowboy’s Pot Roast which is simply amazing. Chef Aaron Johns roasts these flavorful short ribs to perfection. The result, a dish so succulent and tender that you can cut and eat it with a fork. The Chef takes the braised meat and bones and creates an amazing sauce that is delicious and satisfying.

The dish was served with mashed potatoes, peas, broccolini and deep fried onions. All of us at the table were very impressed with the dish’s presentation and its wonderfully bold and delectable flavor.

The 10oz Ribeye was one of the juiciest and satisfying steaks I have had lately. It is hand cut and and charbroiled to order. It is served with 2 fixens of your choice. We had an amazing mac and cheese with our broccolini.

We next tried the Hickory Mesquite Salmon. The 8oz fresh Scottish salmon filet was perfectly seasoned and mesquite pan seared. It was moist, flaky and exceptional. We had the brussel sprouts lightly fried and tossed with bacon and mesquite and the campfire corn, grilled and served mixed with mascarpone, cheese, mayo, queso fresco and hot sauce.

The Chuck Wagon Fried Chicken was next. The 6oz breast fillet of Mary’s Farm Chicken was hand breaded and deep fried. They then smothered the whole thing in Grandpa’s country sausage

gravy. We had the Cowboy Beans, 3 types of beans mixed with Prime Ribeye ground beef and bacon and the mashed potatoes as our sides. Comfort food.

We ended the meal with homemade Chocolate Lava Cake. It was a melt in your mouth chocolate cake with a gooey chocolate center. Yummy. It’s served on a hot skillet with vanilla bean ice cream.

We were all impressed with every delightful dish that we had here. The restaurant is located at 31504 Railroad Canyon Road in the Canyon Lake Town Center.
