Great Oak Sweeps the 2015 CIF SS Division 1 Boys & Girls Cross Country Championships

Vista Murrieta Girls Place Second and Qualify for Next week’s CIF-State Championships

12239546_10206600545105632_100521613384620991_nGreat Oak’s Cross Country teams swept the CID Southern Section Division 1 Championships at Mt. San Antonio College Saturday. The Wolfpack will now advance to compete in the CIF State Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno. Going with them will be the Vista Murrieta Girl’s team who finished second to Great Oak in the meet.

The Wolfpack’s top five runners scored a team total of 36 points to win the meet. Junior Evelyn Mandel finished fourth, sophomore Sandra Pflughoft eighth, juniors Kiyena Beatty ninth, Nicole Rice twelfth and senior Emily Clause was thirteenth.

The Wolfpack girls had a 124-point margin of victory over second place Vista Murrieta. Senior Michaela Reynolds and freshman Paige Haynes led the Broncos girls. Great Oak’s top runner Destiny Collins, hampered with shin splints finished 37th.12249812_10206600539585494_8300537256461134444_n

THe Wolfpack boys beat Dana Hills by 23 points to win their Championship Title. Senior Spencer Dodds finished second in the race, Cole Spencer fourth, Issac Cortez eighth, Solomon Fountain thirteenth, Tony Robinson and Brandon Shields.
