Hemet: Man Wearing “I go hard” T-Shirt Ends Up in Jail after 2 Mile Pursuit


Hemet Police arrested a man wearing a T-shirt declaring “I go hard” following a brief pursuit early Tuesday morning, On Tuesday September 10th , at approximately 4:40 am, Hemet Police officers responded to the 2800 block of Cindy Lane regarding a disturbance.

Different callers had notified police about a man racing up & down the street in a blue Honda Civic during the pre-dawn hours.

When officers arrived, the driver was still driving recklessly and did not stop when officers activated their lights & sirens. The driver, later identified as Steven Alvarez, 32 ,of Hemet, went hard for about 2 miles at speeds exceeding 60 mph.

The pursuit came to an end near the intersection of Florida and Sanderson Avenues. Alvarez was then taken into custody without further incident and promptly taken to jail.

He was charged with Felony Evading and his bail was set at $100,000.
