Hemet: Police Called to Tahquitz High School to Break Up Huge Fight Thursday

On Thursday, November 8th a fight broke out at Tahquitz High School. Hemet Police Officers responded to a request for assistance from the School Resource Officer. The request for additional officers was a result of a large fight that occurred during lunch period.

During the fight, the School Resource Officer observed several students violently attacking, punching and kicking each other. The students involved in the fight were warned to stop fighting, however they refused to comply. Staff members from the school tried to intervene and stop the fights but were unsuccessful.

Fearing for the safety of students involved in this incident, including a student who was being kicked and punched while defenseless on the ground, the Hemet Police Officer assigned to the campus deployed pepper spray to disburse those students who were fighting.

After the incident, several students reported being exposed to pepper spray. Everyone who reported exposure was treated at the school and only minor injuries were reported. Hemet Police Officers are still investigating the fight and it appears to be related to an ongoing feud between students.
