Holy Fire: Only 5% Contained & has Grown to 6,200 Acres…Threatens Homes in Lake Elsinore

McVickers Park Community Under Siege…Fire is Half Mile Away Thursday Morning

The Holy Fire continues to rage in the Cleveland National Forest Thurday morning. The blaze has consumed over 6,200 Acres in Cleveland National Forest. Mandatory evacuations have been issued as the blaze continues to grow, threatening several communities in the Lake Elsinore area. The fire is just 5 percent contained.

Forrest Gordon Clark, a 51-year-old man who lives in the Trabuco Canyon area has been arrested on suspicion of setting the fire. He has been booked into Orange County Jail on Wednesday on suspicion of two felony counts of arson, one felony count of threat to terrorize and one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest. He potentially faces life in prison for this act of arson.

More than 7,000 homes have been ordered to evacuate. About 20,500 residents have been affected.

Lake Elsinore Unified School District is closing the following schools until further notice : Luiseño School, Rice Canyon Elementary, Terra Cotta Middle School and Withrow Elementary.

The Menifee Union School District was also shutting down until further notice.
