HS Basketball: Local Stars Shined in Last Friday’s 12th Annual Desert Valley All Star Game

Aysia Johnson from Desert Christian Academy & Mason Westlake of JW North Named Most Valuable Players

The 12th Annual Desert Valley All Star Game was played on Friday, March 30th at Lakeside High School. The two Games showcased the talent of some of the Top Senior Players in Riverside County.

Aysia Johnson from Desert Christian Academy was named the Most Valuable Player in the Girls game. Mason Westlake of JW North Named was selected MVP in the Boys game.

The Girls Home Team beat the Away Team 66-58. Aysia Johnson was the top scorer with 17 points followed by Imari Cooley from Vista Murrieta with15. Aliyah Milner from California Military Institute put in 13, Megan Ormiston of Murrieta Valley scored 10.

and Amani Moxley, Valley View added 9.

Gabby Stoll, the Southwestern League MVP from Vista Murrieta scored 8 points and Lauryn Manns of Centennial 7. Other local stars were Great Oak’s Brooke Padget, Emilee Stallo from Murrieta Mesa, Emmy Weinman, Lakeside and Murreita Valley’s Ashley Miller.

Savannah Villianova of Chaparral, Temescal Canyon’s Julia Iman and Ariane Madleambayan as well as Kiva Reyes from Lakeside also played.

In the Boy’s game, the Home Team also beat the Away Team 105-102. Mason Westlake of JR North scored 22 points to lead all scorers. Alex Cartwright from Murrieta Valley and Melvin Walker of JR North both scored 16.

Rancho Verde’s Jaishon Forte and CJ Clemons from Beaumont scored 14 each. Kazeem Salaam from King put in 12, Heritage’s

Francis Dogani 11 and Shamar Wright, the Southwestern League MVP from Murrieta Mesa added 10.

Rancho Verde’s Sadid Mohammed also had 10 points. Lamar Wright from Murrieta Mesa, Christian Ross of Great Oak and Tahquitz’s Josh Hardiman all scored 9 points.

Other local stand outs that played were Brian Collins of Murrieta Valley, Paloma Valley’s Terry Strong, Jarred Jennen from Temescal Canyon and Donald Fabela of Elsinore.

“Congratulations to this years Desert Valley All Stars.” said Event Director Todd Malecki. “There were so many fantastic players both for the Girls side and Boys side”.
