HS Basketball: Rancho Christian Runs into a Red Hot St. John Bosco…Lose the CIF SoCal Regional Semifinal 71-54


The Eagles’ Evan Mobley Scored 22 Points as Rancho Christian’s Season comes to an End

Rancho Christian’s 2018 season came to an end Tuesday night. The Eagles lost to a red hot St. John Bosco team who outscored the Eagles 71-54. The Braves advance to play Chino Hills in the CIF Southern California Regional Finals.

Rancho Christian fell behind 17-13 in the first period. The Braves then outscored the Eagles 21-9 in the second period. It was 38-22 at the half and Rancho Christian could not come back from the deficit. The Eagles came back in the third period but the Braves slammed the gates shut in the fourth.

6-foot-11 Evan Mobley led the Eagles’ with 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds. The sophomore also blocked four shots. Older brother, Isaiah was held to just 9 points and had 5 rebounds… well below the juniors average for both. Senior Isaiah Knox also scored 10 for Rancho Christian.

Junior Jonathan Salazar scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Braves. Junior Chris James added 16 more for St. John Bosco. Juniors Joshua Adoh and Fernando Gomez scored 14 and 11points each for the Braves.

Rancho Christian ends the season with a 29-5 record. St. John Bosco is 25-7 and will advance to play Chino Hills in the CIF Southern California Regional Finals.
