HS Boys Basketball: The 2018 All-Southwestern League Team Selected

Murrieta Mesa’s Shamar Wright Named League Most Valuable Player

The 2018 All-Southwestern League Team Selected has been selected and Murrieta Mesa’s Shamar Wright has been named the League’s Most Valuable Player. The senior averaged 19.3 points a game and has led the Rams through the CIF Division 3 Regional Championships.

“Shamar is our school’s first MVP in basketball. His numbers, and his impact on each and every game speaks for itself’ said Murrieta Mesa Coach Chris Jones. “Simply put, without Shamar on the court our team dynamic from both an offensive and defensive perspective changes. His work ethic is high, his passion for the game is through the roof, and he is a load to handle for other teams. He has shattered our school records for points and rebounds in a season”.
