The Purpose of the Tournament was to Showcase the Higher Level of Talent in the Temecula Valley
Ray Barefield, the coach of Rancho Christian Academy’s basketball team hosted this one day event that showcased the higher level talent in the Temecula Valley over the weekend. The Eagles, ranked first in Division 2A in the the CIF Southern Section took on Mater Dei.
Twelve teams competed in Saturday’s Showcase. Four Southwestern league teams are participated in the event. Great Oak, Temecula Valley, Vista Murrieta and Chaparral all suited up for the special occasion.
In the first game of the Showcase Chaparral coasted to a 81-60 over San Bernardino. Game two pitted Vista Murrieta against Carnage Schools. The Broncos won 57-45.
In game four, Saddleback Valley Christian upset Temecula Valley 57-47. The host Eagles then edged Mater Dei 78-67 in the next match.
Great Oak fell to Roosevelt in the final game of the Showcase. The Wolfpack couldn’t hold off the Mustangs relentless attack in the second half and lost 54-46.
