HS Boys Basketball: Great Oak Stuns Vista Murrieta with a 59-48 Victory

The Broncos’s Mekhi Hill’s 20 Points not Enough as the Wolfpack’s Team Effort Shines

Great Oak won it’s second Southwestern league game Friday night and evened it’s league record to 2-2. The Wolfpack beat Vista Murrieta, who has been struggling this season and find themselves at 1-3 and in 4th place.

Great Oak was led by Cj Stevenson who scored 12 pints for the Wolfpack. Zach Hickey added 9 points and the trio of Christian Ross, Darian Dominguez and Tej Johnson scored 8 points each.

Dylan Araiza and Jacob Rodriguez scored 6 points apiece for the Wolfpack and Jalen Punsalan added 2 more.

The Broncos’ Mekhi Hill scored a the game high 20 points for Vista Murrieta. Anthony Smith was also in double figures, scoring 12.

Brandon Newble added 6, Kyle Greely 4, Makai Riley 3 and Max Allen 2 points. Alex Testerman dropped one in from the charity stripe for the Broncos.

In other Southwestern league action, Temecula Valley crushed Chaparral 85-61 and Murrieta Mesa coasted to a 60-47 victory over Murrieta Valley
