The Rams Magical 2018 Season Comes to an End

Murrieta Mesa’s history making season came to an end Friday night. The Rams, who won 24 games this year came up just short in their first ever trip to the CIF Southern Section Division 3A Quarterfinals.

Notre Dame jumped out to a 42-32 lead in the first half and never looked back. The Rams free throw shooting was dismal in the first half. The missed 9 of 11 free-throws from the charity stripe. The Titans used a 16-6 fourth-quarter run to put the game away and take home the 85-68 victory.

Anthony Holland scored 22 points to lead Notre Dame. Pierce Sterling and Anton Mozga each scored 19 points for the Titans.

It was an even game in the first half” said Murrieta Mesa Coach Chris Jones. “But in the fourth quarter, I think the pressure kind of expands on you.”

Lamar Wright scored 23 points to lead the Rams offense. He also grabbed 7 rebounds. Anthony Salas also snatched 7 rebounds while scoring 13 points.

Shamar Wright would score 11 points, Devin Fortune 10 and Gio Sanders 9 for the Rams.

The Titans will advance to play Bishop Amat in the CIF Southern Section Semifinals next Friday.
