Shamar Wright’s 27 Points Leads the Rams Past the Titans in Yesterday’s King of the Hill Tournament Action
Murrieta Mesa outscored Temescal Canyon 21-16 in the fourth period in yesterday’s King of the Hill Tournament to force the game into overtime. The Rams went on to win by a score of 76-71 and squeezed by the Titans who fell to 9-5 for the season.
It was the Red Hot Rams eighth straight victory and improves their record to 12-3 for the year. The victory was the Rams third victory in the tournament.
Temescal Canyon jumped out to a 37-28 lead in the first half and seemed to have things well under control. Not so.
The Rams battled back in the third period, outscoring the Titans 18-14 and tied it all up in the fourth. The Rams finished strong, outscoring Temescal Canyon 9-4 in the overtime period to win the game.
Shamar Wright scored 27 points to lead the Rams. Twin brother Lamar Wright added 13 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
Juniors Devin Fortune and Anthony Salas both scored 11 points for Murrieta Mesa. Gio Sanders put 8 points through the hoop and had 4 assists. Fortune led the team with 10 rebounds.
Tournament play continues today. Murrieta Mesa faces Aliso Niguel at 7:30pm
