HS Boys Basketball: Rancho Christian Beats Aliso Niguel 81-69 & Advances to the CIF SS Division 2A Semifinals

The Eagles had Five Players Score in Double Figures to Slip Past the Wolverines

Rancho Christian had five players score in double figures to beat Aliso Niguel 81-69 in Wednesday night’s CIF Southern Section Division 2A Championship Playoff Game. The Eagles now advance to face Capistrano Valley in the Semifinals.

With the score tied at 18 after the first period, Rancho Christian seized control of the game in the second and never looked back. It was 39-32 as the second half began. The Wolverines hung on in the third period but the Eagles put it away with a strong finish in the final period.

The Mobley brothers shined for the Eagles once again. Freshman Evan Mobley led the team in scoring with 20 points, Isaiah Mobley scored 13 points and dominated the boards all game long. The sophomore hauled in 16 rebounds and also had a blocked shot.





Rancho Christian had three other players score in double figures. KJ Redfield and Solomon Davis each scored 14 points and Owen Chidester added 10 more against the Wolverines. Jordan Montgomery scored 7 points and Isaiah Knox 3.

Dylan Dickerson scored 21 points to lead Aliso Niguel. Lucas Parks was next, scoring 20 against the Eagles. Harnider Dhaliwal added 13 more and Nick Hlousek,David Sullivan and Josh Beever each put 4 points on the scoreboard. Jayden Okibo added 2 more and Ryan Poirot put one in from the charity stripe. The Wolverines final record for the season is19-12.

The Eagles will travel to Mission Viejo to face Capistrano Valley Friday night. The Cougars defeated Dos Pueblos 53-39 last night. Also playing in the Division 2A Semifinals is Vista Murrieta, who will be at home against Oxnard.
