The Broncos are Tied for First Place in the Southwestern League with Temecula Valley
Vista Murrieta showed the rest of the Southwestern league that they mean business this year. The Broncos jumped out to a 107 lead over the Wolfpack in the first period and never looked back. Vista Murrieta outscored Great Oak 43-40 in the next three periods to claim the victory 52-47.
The victory improves the Broncos to 16-2 overall this season and 3-0 in league play. Vista Murrieta is tied with Temecula Valley for first place in the Southwestern league. The two teams will put their unblemished records on the line tomorrow as the Golden Bears will host the Broncos at 7 pm.
Michael Carongcong led the Broncos with14 points against the Pack. Nate Duran scored 9 points as Brenden Newble and PJ Slaughter scored 6 each. Slaughter also led Vista Murrieta with 9 rebounds. Ravi Alston and Jalen Newble each added 5 points, Cole Clark 4 as Kyle Greeley and Trevon Ridley had 2 points apiece.
The Wolfpack was led by Jacob Rodriguez’s 17 points. Tej Johnson scored 9 as CJ Stevenson and Jason Bush each added 6 points apiece. Zeryck Russon had 4, Christian Ross 3 and Zach Ashbrook 2 points.
While the Boncos will have their hands busy against the Golden Bears, Great Oak will travel to Murrieta Valley to face the Nighthawks.
