HS Cross Country: Great Oak Girls Dominant in Southwestern League Meet

Vista Murrieta  Finishes a Strong Second

The Great Oak Varsity Girls Cross Country team edged Vista Murrieta 35-42 in Wednesday afternoon’s first Southwestern League meet of the year. The Wolfpack accomplished this without the use of their top 8 runners, who did not run.

Chaparral finished in third, followed by Temecula Valley, Murrieta Valley and Murrieta Mesa.

Bronco junior Annabelle Werner was the Individual winner with a time of 18.01. Chaparral senior Zoe Jarvis was second with a time of 18.08, followed by sophomore Caitlan Billman from Murrieta Valley.

The Wolfpack Girls were solid as Maya Ambroziak took 4th, Fatima Cortez 5th, Sarah Workman 7th, Arianna Griffiiths 8th  and Jessica Janecek.

Vista Murrieta’s Natalie Dubon placed 6th, Ariel Van Ripper 9th and Peyton Candaele 12th. Chaparral’s Grace Handler was 10th.
