HS Football: Calvary Murrieta Seeking Third Consecutive South Valley League Championship

Brad Schwab & Coaching Staff have Built the Warriors into the Premium Football Program in their League

13886235_667806233366666_579782988595630763_nWhen Brad Schwab took the reins of the Calvary Murrieta Football program in 2010, the Warriors went 1-9 and finished last in the Ambassador league. Since then, Schwab has redefined the program, turned it around and has won two consecutive South Valley League Championships. The Warriors plan to make it three in a row and improve in the playoffs this season.

“We would love to be in the CIF finals this season” said Schwab. “We lost some key guys to graduation but I think we replaced them with some top prospects. We won’t have to go both ways as they did in the past”.

Steven Brown is the Wide Receivers Coach, Tracey McClelland handles the Quarterbacks and Jamie Brown just joined the staff as the Offensive line coach. .Bob Tyler Is the Special Teams coordinator

John Brown and Derek Roth share the Defensive Coordinator spot. Brown has been coaching for 30 years and Roth has been coaching at Calvary Murrieta for the past 12.

Jeff Myers and James Proxmire coach the Defensive line and  Eddie Ramirez  is responsible for the Defensive backs.13920886_667806763366613_4628847615372432856_n

“We were pretty happy with our 11-1 record last year as the Lord allowed us to stay healthy” said Schwab. “We let the 2nd round playoff game slip through our fingers, and are hoping to not let that happen this year. Our strength is our experience.  We are Senior heaving compared to the last few years”.13886311_667806206700002_4416865956982872390_n

Schwab and his staff have been running the team for four years now and they have it nailed. Rival Rancho Christian is looking to knock the Warriors off their pedestal this season… but they better come prepared. The Warriors are well coached, disciplined and explosive on both sides of the ball.

Calvary Murrieta will open the 2016 season against Western Christian in Upland on August 26th. The Warriors thrashed the Fighting Lancers 68-26 last year.
