HS Football: CIF Southern Section Week 5 Polls Released

Several Local Teams Continue to Shine in Week 5 October 2, 2017 Polls

The Week 5 CIF Southern Section Polls as of October 2, 2017 were released today. There was little movement for local teams in the Polls as most of the teams had byes.

In Division 2, Heritage moved up to second from the number 3 spot this week. The Patriots had a bye and will face Lakeside in their Sunbelt opener Friday.

Murrieta Mesa also had a bye but dropped from the third spot in Division 4 to sixth. The Rams slipped past Valley View in a 59-58 overtime thriller the last time they played and will take on Temecula Valley.

In Division five two local teams continue to shine. Paloma Valley moved down a spot to 5th. The Big news in Division 5 continues to be the resurgence of Chaparral. The Pumas dropped 8th to the number 9 spot this week. The Wildcats and Pumas had byes last week.

Elsinore dropped a spot in Division 6 and is ranked 6th. Undefeated Lakeside improved to the 9th position in Division 11. The Lancers and Tigers did not play last week.

Rancho Christian stayed locked in the number 3 spot in Division 12 again week. The Eagles also had a bye.
