HS Football: CIF Southern Section Week 7 Polls Released

The Sunbelt League has 5 Teams Ranked this Week

Local Teams fared well in this week’s CIF Southern Section Football Polls. The Big Surprise was Lakeside, creeping into the number 11 spot in Division 11. This is the first time that the Lancers have cracked into the CIF SS polls.

Centennial remains stuck behind Mater Dei in the Number 2 spot in Division 1.  Vista Murrieta slid off the Division 1 charts after their 42-37 loss to Murrieta Valley Friday night. The Nighthwks remain at the number 2 spot in Division 2, right behind Heritage who is Number 1.

The Sunbelt also has Paloma Valley ranked second in Division 5 and Elsinore is number 6 in Division 6. Perris dropped from the number 1 spot in Division 9 to third after losing to Elsinore rhis weekend.

Murrieta Mesa leaped to the number 8 spot in Division 4 after stomping Temecula Valley. Chaparral disappeared from the Polls with their loss to Great Oak. The Wolfpack is ranked 12th in Division 2.

Calvary Murrieta is ranked fourth in Division 12 and Rancho Christian is in the number 8 spot in Division 13. Linfield Christian failed to rank in the CIF SS polls for the first time this year despite a huge 41-8 victory over Ontario Christian Friday night.
