Temecula Valley, Linfield Christian, Chaparral, Great Oak & Elsinore Make the Divisional Lists
The CIF Southern Section Divisional Week three football polls have been released and five local High Schools have been ranked in the top ten in their respective Divisions.
In Division 7, Temecula Valley improved from the third spot to Number Two. The Golden Bears crushed Valley View 41-6 to open it’s season and then beat Elsinore 42-21. They then defeated Division 13 West Valley and slipped past Norte Vista.
Also in Division 7, Elsinore popped into the top 10 and is now ranked seventh. The Tigers are 3-1 and demolished Rancho Buena Vista 55-0 Friday. Elsinore has a bye this week and will play Banning at home on the 27th .
Linfield Christian comes in still ranked as the number 3 team in Division 11. The Lions destroyed Cornerstone Christian 68-0 in their season opener, ran all over Division 14 Indian Springs 56-0 and crushed Lakewood last week. Linfield plays Granite Hills Friday.
Chaparral improved it’s standings in the CIF Southern Section polls and moved up from the number 6 spot in Division 4 to fifth. The 3-0 Pumas have completely dominated the three teams they have met this year.
Great Oak makes it’s first appearance in the top 10 rankings this week. The Wolfpack is 3-1 and is coming off a dramatic 34-31 victory over Etiwanda last Friday. Great Oak has a bye Friday and will play San Juan Hills next.
Temescal Canyon stayed locked in to number 14 position in Division 8. The Titans lost to Jurupa Hills 47-34 Friday night. Temescal Canyon will play Hillcrest this week.
Heritage improved a spot to number 13 in the Division 3 rankings this week. The Patriots dominated Redlands East Valley in a 33-10 win at home last week.
Heritage will take the week off and resume the season on September 26th against Santiago.
