HS Football: Linfield Christian,Vista Murrieta, Heritage, Paloma Valley & Temecula Valley Ranked in Week 7’s Top 10 CIF Southern Section Divisional Polls

The Mighty Linfield Lions Have stayed in the Number 1 Spot in Division 12 All Season Long

The CIF Southern Section Polls for Week 7, October 8th have been released. The big change this week…Chaparral fell out of the Division 4 Top 10 rankings after being soundly defeated by Vista Murrieta last Friday 55-7. It was the Pumas second loss of the season. Chaparral will play Murrieta Mesa Friday night. The Rams are 4-3 and thrashed Great Oak 45-10 last week.


Linfield Christian still reigns supreme again this week in Division 12. In fact, the Lions have been ranked first all season long. The Number One ranked Lions crushed Ontario Christian 38-0 last week. They have destroyed all seven opponents they have played this season.

Coach Dechon Burns’ team’s amazing defense has only given up 6 points in their first 7 games. The Lions seem to score at will and get better each week. Linfield faces arch rival Aquinas this Friday. The Falcons are ranked second in Division 5.This will be the showdown for the Ambassador league Crown.

Vista Murrieta maintained its 9th place rank in Division 1.The Broncos are on a four game winning streak and have a record of 5-2. Last week, Vista Murrieta crushed Chaparral in Southwestern league play. They face Temecula Valley Friday who lost to Murrieta Valley in a wild one 63-52.

Heritage stayed in the 8th spot in Division 2. Head Coach Kraig Broach’s Patriots are 5-2 and beat Temescal Canyon 28-0 last week. Heritage will face off against Division 3 rival Paloma Valley this Friday.

Paloma Valley is ranked 8th in the Division 3 Polls this week. The Wildcats are 5-2 and defeated Arlington 28-19 in their last game. This week’s game with long time rival Heritage is one of the top games of the season. Heritage slipped past the Wildcats 41-38

Temecula Valley slipped 2 spots in the Division 8 Polls from fifth to number 7 this week. The Golden Bears had an amazing performance against Division 1 Murrieta Valley and almost upsetting the Nighthawks in their 63-52 loss last week.

The Golden Bears will face Vista Murrieta in Southwestern league action Friday night.
