HS Football: Linfield Christian,Vista Murrieta, Heritage & Temecula Valley Ranked in Week 8’s Top 10 CIF Southern Section Divisional Polls

Linfield Christian Fell to Arch Rival Aquinas 30-20 but Remains Number 1 in Division 12

After a one day delay, the CIF Southern Section Polls for Week 8, October 16th have been released. The big change this week…Paloma Valley fell out of the Division 3 Top 10 rankings after being soundly defeated by Ivy League rival Heritage 42-14 last Friday night. The Wildcats face Rancho Verde, the top ranked team in Division 2 this week.

Linfield Christian still reigns supreme again this week in Division 12 even though the Lions suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of arch Ambassador league rival Aquinas 30-20 Friday night. The Falcons are ranked ranked second in Division 5.

Until last week’s loss, the Lions amazing defense had only given up 6 points in their first 7 games. Coach Dechon Burns looks to get everything ight again this week against Western Christian.

Vista Murrieta gained a spot this week in Division 1 at number 8.The Broncos are on a five game winning streak and have a record of 6-2. Last week, Vista Murrieta beat Southwestern league rival Temecula Valley 14-7.

Heritage improved 3 spots in the Division 2 rankings with an impressive 42-14 pounding of Paloma Valley last Friday. Head Coach Kraig Broach’s Patriots are 6-2 and will face off against Valley View Friday night.

Temecula Valley maintained it’s seventh spot ranking in the Division 8 Polls. The Golden Bears forfeited to Division 1 Vista Murrieta 14-7 last week when the game was rescheduled for Saturday for a storm delay.

Temecula will battle Chaparral in Southwestern league action Friday night.
