HS Football: Three Local Teams Make this Week’s Top Ten CIF Southern Section Divisional Polls

Linfield Christian, Chaparral, & Temecula Valley Make the Divisional Lists

The CIF Southern Section Divisional Week Three football polls have been released and three local High Schools have been ranked in the top ten in their respective Divisions.

Linfield Christian comes in still ranked as the number 3 team in Division 11. The Lions destroyed Cornerstone Christian 68-0 in their season opener and ran all over Division 14 Indian Springs 56-0 last week. Linfield is home Friday night to face Lakewood.

Chaparral improved it’s standings in the polls and moved up from the number 9 spot in Division 4 to sixth. The Pumas completely dominated Hemet two weeks ago winning decisively 28-7 and

Chaparral knocked off Division 7 Redlands 30-0.

The Pumas has only given up 7 points in 2 games this season. The defense will be tested yet again against Yucipa this week.

In Division 7, Temecula Valley stayed locked in the third spot again for the third consecutive week. The Golden Bears crushed Valley View 41-6 to open it’s season and then beat Elsinore 42-21. Last Friday they defeated Division 13 West Valley 42-0.

Temescal Canyon improved from 15th in Division 8 to number 14. The Titans were lost to 22-16 Division 10 JW North. Temescal Canyon locks horns with Jurupa Hills Friday night.

Heritage dropped back into the Division 3 rankings this week even after losing to 24-7 Cajon Friday night. The Patriots claim the 14th spot. Heritage will play Redlands East Valley at home this week.
