HS Football: Murrieta Valley’s Pete Duffy Returning as Head Coach of Rancho Verde

Pete Duffy resigned as Murrieta Valley’s Offensive Coordinator to head back to Rancho Verde to head up the Football Program there. Duffy was with MVHS for the past three seasons.

Under Duffy, the Nighthawks averaged 50.4 points and 566 yards per game in 2016 and won the Southwestern league Championship for the past two seasons. Last year Murrieta made it all the way to the CIF-SS Division 2 title game.

Duffy is no stranger to Rancho Verde Football.

He was the head coach and led the Mustangs for 10 years. He built a winning program that dominated the Inland Valley league. Duffy led the Mustangs to nine consecutive CIF-SS Playoffs and won the Central Division Championship in 2012

Duffy will be taking over for Jeff Steinberg. Steinberg who stepped down to take the Head Coaching position at Beaumont High. Duffy’s return to the Rancho Verde football will be missed by the Nighthawks.

Duffy is a teacher at Rancho Verde.
