HS Football: Perris Travels to Temescal Canyon to Take on the Titans


The Panthers Look for Redemption after last Week’s Loss to Elsinore 

14625377_1286714658039559_1983851103_nPerris lost to Elsinore 35-14 in last week’s Sunbelt league opener. The Panthers were ranked Number One in last week’s CIF Southern Section Division 9 polls but fell to fourth this week after the loss.

Romello Edwards quarterbacks the Panthers. The junior has thrown for 1418 yards and 14 touchdowns. His favorite receivers are seniors Jacob Salas, Givante Hall and PJ Martin. Junior Samaj Daniels is their leading runner with 354 yards on 38 carries. Edwards has also run 60 times for 201 yards.

Temescal Canyon was roughed up by Paloma Valley last week as the Titans fell 55-17. The Titans are 1-4-1 overall and ready to make some noise in the Sunbelt.

Sophomore quarterback Jaden Gomez leads the Temescal Canyon offense. He has passed for 796 yards and 8 TDs. His favorite targets are seniors Landon Lopera and Jason Stepanek. A pair of talented sophomores anchor the Titans running game. Jaden Gomez has run for 282 yards and Brandon Clemmons has gained 294yards.

Senior Justin Mitts, junior Chris Fey and sophomore Khristian Demarco lead the Titan defense.
