HS Football: San Juan Hills Crushes Great Oak 24-0 Friday as the Wolfpack Falls to 1-4


Great Oak Faces Temecula Valley in their Southwestern League Opener Friday Night

Great Oak ran into a pesky, solid San Juan Hills defense last Friday night. The Wolfpack was shut out for the second time this season, falling to the Stallions 24-0. Great Oak has only managed to score 13 points in their 4 losses this season. The Wolfpack did score 20 points to defeat King on August 24th .

San Juan Hills put three on the board in the first quarter as Kristian Johnson nailed 25 yard field goal.

The Stallions drove to the one yard line in the second quarter. Chase Monarch capped off the drive with a short one yard run. San Juan led 9-0 at halftime.

A bad snap on a Great Oak punt at the close of the third quarter led to a safety for San Juan Hills. In the final quarter, the Stallions scored again, this time on a 13 yard touchdown run by Steven Margaretis.

The Wolfpack was driving with 6 minutes left in the game when Jake Hall ended all hopes of a comeback. The junior middle linebacker intercepted a Great Oak pass and returned it 34 yards into the end zone to seal the victory for the Stallions 24-0.

Sophomore quarterback Hudson Jones completed 10 of 19 passes for 98 yards. Monarch gained 154 yards and Margaretis 65 on the ground.




Great Oak will face Temecula Valley for their Southwestern league opening game this coming Friday. The Golden Bears under new head coach Bert Esposito are 3-2 and are coming off a disappointing 48-21 loss to Paloma Valley.

San Juan Hills has it’s first Sea View league game against Trabuco Hills in San Juan Capistrano this week.
