Six Local Teams Remain Locked at the Top in their Divisions
The CIF Southern Section Polls for Week 9, October 22ed have been released. Six Local teams, Vista Murrieta, Rancho Verde, Heritage, Chaparral, Temecula Valley and Linfield Christian remain locked at the top in their Divisions as we head into the final week of the season.
Vista Murrieta gained a spot this week in Division 1 and is now ranked number 7. The Broncos are on a six game winning streak and have a record of 7-2. Vista Murrieta will play explosive Murrieta Valley Thursday for the Southwestern league Championship.
In Division 2, Rancho Verde occupies the Number One spot. The unbeaten Mustangs are 9-0 after thrashing Paloma Valley 45-14 last week. Rancho Verde will clash with Heritage Friday night, ranked fifth in the same division. The game will decide the Ivy league Championship and will be televised on Fox.
Chaparral has reemerged in the polls and is ranked at the 10th spot in Division 4 this week. The Pumas beat Temecula Valley in a exciting nail biter 35-28 where defensive back Jemmar Robinson came up with the game saving interception on the 5 yard line at the end of game. Chaparral will play Great Oak Friday.
Last, but not least, Linfield Christian still reigns supreme again this week in Division 12. The Lions destroyed Western Christian 85-12 last week after suffering their only loss of the season to Aquinas. Linfield suits up against Ambassador league rival Desert Christian Academy Friday night.
