HS Football: Vista Murrieta Battles Crenshaw Friday Night at Home

14322179_1078103252309787_4156218837031787470_nVista Murrieta fell to JSerra 28-14 last week and slipped out of the CIF Southern Section Division 1Top 10 Polls Monday. The Bronco football program under new Head Coach David Olsen is proud, focused and looking to rebound from last week’s setback. They will host a very tough Crenshaw team this weekend.14238238_1072516539535125_498962525071036555_n

Crenshaw is 2-1 and dangerous. The Cougars have outscored their opponents 72-21 in their last 2 games and are a Division 1 team in the CIF Los Angeles City Section. They are led by quarterback Daiyan Henley who can throw and is a dangerous runner. Freshman Jared Greenfield is blossoming into one of Crenshaw’s top receivers.  Romeo Burnside and Manasseh Bennett anchor the Cougar defense.

14263979_1078103175643128_5455208945926151488_nThe Broncos have a very balanced offense this year, averaging 84.5 yard in the air and 92 yards per game on the ground. Senior quarterback Karson Greely is behind center and has thrown for 404 yards and 4 touchdowns. Senior Ravi Alston leads Murrieta with 9 receptions. Javelin Guidry, another senior is the Bronco rushing leader with 182 yards on 18 carries. Junior wide receiver Khalil Shakir and offensive tackle Tavis Shippen provide leadership and stability to the young Broncos team.

The Broncos defense is solid and punishing. It is anchored by seniors Ryan Gonter, Hunter Orme, P. “pono” Faaaga, junior Elisiah Guidry and sophomore Lei Mounga.
