HS Football: The Week 8 CIF Southern Section Polls as of October 23, 2017 Released Today.


 

Five Area Teams Continue to be Ranked in the Top 10 of their Divisions

In Division 2, Heritage stayed locked in the second spot again this week. The Patriots rolled to their 38th consecutive Sunbelt League last Friday night. The Patriots have never lost a league game since joining the Sunbelt…and has the second-longest winning streak in Inland Empire history. Their next opponent is Temescal Canyon.

Murrieta Mesa ranked eighth in Division 4. The Rams made school history last week. They defeated Great Oak for the first time ever, and they did it easily. The Rams will play Chaparral this week.

In Division five Paloma Valley moved down a spot to 6th. The Wildcats kept its Sunbelt league record perfect and improved to 3-0, as they slipped past Elsinore Friday night. The Wildcats are home next week to face Sunbelt league rival Perris. Chaparral dropped out the Division 5 Polls. The Pumas lost to Vista Murrieta 41-10. They face Murrieta Mesa this week.

Elsinore jumped back into the Top 10 in Division 6 They are ranked in the 10th spot after battling Paloma Valley to a 42-21 loss. The Tigers will battle Lakeside Friday.

Rancho Christian moved up a spot in Division 12 to fifth. The Eagles soared past Calvary Murrieta in their South Valley league game Friday. Rancho California plays rival Nuview Bridge this week.
