Vista Murrieta’s Gabby Stoll Named League Most Valuable Player
The 2018 All-Southwestern League Team has been selected and Vista Murrieta senior Gabby Stoll was named League Most Valuable Player. Vista Murrieta Freshman Lexi Mead was the other Bronco selected to the First Team All-Southwestern League.
Also selected for All Southwestern First Team honors were seniors Megan Ormiston and Ashley Miller of Murrieta Valley. Junior Ashley Waltz from Great Oak and Chaparral’s sophomore Zia Rapada also made the first team.
“Gabby had a great all-around year for us, and she especially played well in Southwestern League play. She led our team in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots, and she also showed her versatility by shooting well from beyond three-point range and also at the free throw line” said Vista Murrieta Coach Kurt Ruth.
“She also showed her consistency as a player by scoring in double figures in all ten league games. I believe she is very deserving of the MVP recognition she has received, and I’m looking forward to her having a great college career at Westmont College”.
Senior Brooke Padgett and junior Victoria Farris from Great Oak were selected for All Southwestern Second Team honors. Murrieta Mesa freshman Keslyn Henson, Vista Murrieta senior Imari Cooley and sophomore Emily Gonzalez from Temecula Valley also made the team.
