The Wolfpack’s Brooke Padgett Scores 12 Points to Lead Great Oak Past the Rams

The Wolfpack played solid, patient basketball last night to dominate their Southwestern League game from the opening jump ball to beat Murrieta Mesa 53-31. Playing with a bad ankle, Brooke Padgett scored 12 points to lead the Wolfpack past the Rams.

The Wolfpack’s tough defensive play kept the Rams from scoring more than 10 points in each of the first three periods. Great Oak outscored Murrieta 10-6 in the first period, 14-9 in the second and really shut down the Rams in the third period 15-2. Murrieta did score 14 points in the final frame, but it was too little, too late.

Tianna Shaw ended up scoring 10 points against the Rams in last night’s game. Amanda Constant and Victoria Farris each scored 8 points for the Wolfpack while Ashley Waltz added 7 and Kevwe Anigbogu scored 6 points. Savannah Potter scored 2 points for the Pack.

The Ram’s Deyjanae Williams was the leading scorer in the game with 16 points. Justine Hutter was next for Mesa with 6 points, Alex Delgado 4 Olivia Cheng 3 and Tristine Ciling scored 2 in the final period.

The Wolfpack is now 2-0 in league play and will travel to Vista Murrieta to take on the mighty Broncos. The Rams will face off with Murrieta Valley. They are 1-1 in league.
