Sophomore Deyjanae Williams Scores 22 points to lead the Rams over the Panthers

Deyjanae Williams registered a double-double as the sophomore scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds Tuesday night in Corona. The Rams slipped past the Panthers 48-44 for the win. The victory improved Murrieta Mesa’s record to 11-4 with just a game left before Southwestern League play begins.

Junior Alexus Williams had 10 points and 6 rebounds and senior Tristine Ciling scored 8 points and had 7 assists. Juniors Emilee Stallo and Jasonnia Burelson each scored 4 points and senior Olivia Cheng 2 more for the Rams.

We just played a great win last night against corona” said Rams Head Coach Kyle Rouse. Sophomore Deyjanae Williams has been out go to, averaging nearly 18 points a game and 7 boards. Our defense has been our strong suit.Our opponents have only averaged in the low 30’s through 15 games. Our front guards, Tristine Ciling and Captain Alina Villanueva have been our defensive stoppers all season”.

Murrieta Mesa will play at home on Friday against Vista del Lago from Moreno Valley. The Ravens are 0-11 and looking for an upset.
