HS Girls Basketball: Murrieta Mesa Defeats Temecula Valley 58-43 in their Southwestern League Opener


 

The Rams Play Great Oak and the Golden Bears Face Murrieta Valley Today

Murrieta Mesa took control of their Southwestern League opening game from the opening jump ball. The Rams jumped out to a 17-6 lead in the first period before the stunned Golden Bears came out of hibernation. Temecula Valley won the second period 18-13 to make it 30-24 at the half.

 

 

 

The Golden Bears were sluggish after the halftime break, only scoring 8 points while the Rams put 15 more on the board. Murrieta Mesa outscored TVHS in the final period by a basket an won the game 58-43.

Murrieta Mesa was led by Deyjanae Williams, who had 27 points and grabbed 9 rebounds for the Rams. Olivia Cheng scored 11 points and Tristine Ciling added 6 more. Jasonnia Burleson and Emilee Stallo hauled in six rebounds apiece.

The Rams play Great Oak, who are 1-0 in league play tonight. The Golden Bears will face a tough, much improved Murrieta Valley team.
