HS Girls Basketball: Murrieta Valley Soars Past Fallbrook 61-37


The Nighthawks Win Game 2 of the 2016 Nighthawk Classic Basketball Tournament

Fallbrook jumped out to a 15-12 lead over Murrieta Valley in the first period of Tuesday’s round 2 game of the Nighthawk Classic. The Warriors were thinking upset, but it was not to be. The Nighthawks adjusted and would dominate the rest of the game. Murrieta Valley would out-score Fallbrook 49-22 for the remainder of the game to win 61-37.The Nighthawks are now 9-3 this season.

 

Junior Megan Ormiston scored a season high 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the Murrieta Valley attack. Junior Ashley Miller and freshman Parris Pettitt each scored 8 points against the Warriors and junior Jillian Jinkins added 6 more. Senior Alyssa
Kreutzer
 hauled in 10 rebounds and set a new Nighthawk School record with 12 assists which was previously held by Ariana Hernandez (11) .

Junior Sarah Ahmadpour led the Warriors with 14 points. Senior Ja’Nequea Boston scored 6, freshman Antioia Rosario 4, while freshman Kate Cahoun and junior Riley Sullivan added 3 apiece.

The Nighthawk Classic Tournament continues as Murrieta Valley faces Elsinore and Fallbrook takes on Rancho Verde today.
