HS Girls Basketball: Murrieta Valley Wins Big Over Paloma Valley 60-21 in the Opening Round of the Nighthawk Classic

Senior Megan Ormiston Leads the Nighthawks with a 22 Point Performance 

Murrieta Valley cruised to a 60-21 victory over the Wildcats from Paloma Valley Tuesday night in the Opening Round of the Nighthawk Classic. The win improved the Nighthawks to 8-4 so far this season. Paloma Valley falls to 5-9.

Senior Megan Ormiston led the Nighthawks with 22 points. She also grabbed six rebounds and had 2 steals. Ashley Miller was red hot as well and ended up with 16 points. The senior also led the team with 10 rebounds and had 3 steals.

Sophomore Jaazer Ridges scored 10 points and had 6 assists and 6 steals. Freshman and little sister Sydney Ormiston had 2 blocked shots against the Wildcats.

Our inside play was strong and as a team we played very good defense coming off Christmas Break” said Murrieta Valley Coach Nicolas Pardue. “We have a big challenge tonight against an undefeated West Linn team”.

West Linn is currently 7-0 and walked all over and destroyed  84-32 Tuesday night. They are in the CIF Southern Section’s 6A Division. Murrieta Valley is a Division 2A team.

The game is part of the Nighthawk Classic Holiday Tournament and will be played at Murrieta Valley tonight at 7pm.
