HS Girls Basketball: Vista Murrieta Rolls Past Murrieta Valley 72-31 in Southwestern League Action


 

Murrieta Mesa Beats Temecula Valley 62-40 and Chaparral Falls 63-33 to Great Oak

Vista Murrieta continued to dominate the Southwestern league as the Broncos thrashed second place Murrieta Valley 72-31 Tuesday night. The Nighthawks started out strong, battling Vista Murrieta to a 15-12 score in the first period.

Then the bottom dropped out for Murrieta Valley. Vista Murrieta outscored the Nighthawks 20-4 in the second period and continued the thrashing in the second half. The Broncos scored 37 points in the half as the Nighthawks struggled for the 15 they scored.

Lexi Mead led all scorers with 17 points. The freshman nailed five 3-pointers for Vista Murrieta. Gabby Stoll added 15, Natalia Willis 13, and Imari Cooley 8. Maitland Kingsley scored 6 more as Keiara Barton and Sarah Rich scored 4points each.

Murrieta Valley’s Megan Ormiston was the Nighthawk top scorer with14 points. Jillian Jinkins added 6 points while Ashley Miller and Paris Petitt scored 3 each.

In other Southwestern league action, Murrieta Mesa beat Temecula Valley 62-40 and Chaparral fell 63-33 to Great Oak
