HS Girls Basketball: Vista Murrieta Tramples Temecula Valley 57-16

The Broncos are 4-0 in League Play…Murrieta Mesa is Next Up

The Broncos continued their amazing run through the Southwestern league. Their latest victim…Temecula Valley. The Golden Bears were held to just 16 points as Vista Murrieta scored 57 to win their fifth consecutive blow out of league opponents.

The Broncos wasted no time Friday night, as they jumped out to a huge 23-4 lead in the first period. It was 47-16 by the start of the fourth period, and the tough, physical Bronco defense never relented. The Golden Bears were shut out in the final frame and Vista Murrieta scored 10 more to make it a 57-16 game.

Vista Murrieta was led Kalera Barton’s 12 points. Gabby Stoll was next with 11 points while Noelani Bernardo and Keialni Cooper scored 8 each. Maitland Kingsley added 7 more, Serrena Jimerson 6 and Natalia Willis 5 points.




The Golden Bears’ Anastasia Navarro and Emma Vollmer each scored 6 points against the Broncos. Alexandria Hader added 4 more for Temecula. Temecula Valley is now 4-12 overall and1-3 in league.

Vista Murrieta will play Valley View today at Norco and will then face Murrieta Mesa on Wednesday. Temecula Valley will be home to battle Great Oak.
