Mackenzie Vehlow of Temecula Valley Named Offensive MVP & Amanda Meichtry from Vista Murrieta the Defensive MVP
The 2018 All Southwestern League Team has been selected. Two talented juniors were named this year’s Most Valuable Players. Mackenzie Vehlow of Temecula Valley has been named the Offensive M VP and Vista Murrieta’s Amanda Meichtry the Defensive MVP.
“Mackenzie is not only an outstanding athlete but she is an amazing person inside and out. I have been honored to work with her by my side as a captain” said Temecula Valley Coach Jennifer Guinn “Her leadership with this team and continued perseverance has been an incredible thing to witness. Offensive MVP is well deserved with 5 goals and 10 assists this season in the Southwestern League. Throughout playoffs she finished with a total of 18 goals and 12 assists. Kenzie has earned the respect of the entire division and we are proud to call her a Golden Bear”.
“Amanda was the anchor of our defense this year. Her poise and skill gave her teammates and coaches all the confidence in the world” said Broncos Coach Ryan Heise. “She was able to put herself in the right position to not only thwart the other team’s offense, but would often start our attack. The other Southwestern League coaches recognize Amanda’s season as being special and awarded her accordingly. We are just glad we have her for one more season”.
