HS Girls Soccer: The CIF Southern Section Championship Playoffs Begin Today

Eight Local High Schools are Ready to Compete for Various CIF Championships

The CIF Southern Section Girls Soccer Championship Playoffs begin this afternoon and eight local High schools will be competing for 7 Divisional Titles. The action begins today at 3pm.

In Division 1, Vista Murrieta faces San Clemente. The Broncos are15-11-2 so far this season and finished second in the Southwestern league. San Clemente is 16-3-4 and ranked 7th in the Division in the last CIF SS Polls.

In Division 2, Southwestern league Champion Temecula Valley will be home to face Marina. The Golden Bears were undefeated in league play and ended the regular season 16-6-2 and ranked 7th in the Division. The Vikings are 16-5-4.

Three local teams will vie for the Division 4 CIF SS Championship. Paloma Valley will play Paramount. The Sunbelt league Champions are 19-0-2 this season. The Wildcats were ranked number one in the CIF SS Division 4 Polls, The Pirates are 13-6-4.

Temescal Canyon faces La Canada today. The Titans finished second in the Sunbelt league and have a record of 11-7-6. The Spartans are 10-5.

Great Oak is the final team in the Division 4 playoffs. The Wolfpack was third in the Southwestern league and have a record of 12-6-5. They play Silverado. The Eagles were an impressive 18-3.

In the Division 6 Playoffs, Nuview Bridge will meet Savanna. The Knights are 18-1-3 and ranked 4th in the last CIF SS Polls. The Rebels are 10-8 -1.

Santa Rosa Academy was the other Champion in the South Valley League. They finished 15-1-2 and will play Wilson. The Wildcats are 10-9-3.

Calvary Murrieta faces Ramona Convent in the Division 7 Playoffs. The Warriors are 12-6-1 and was third in the South Valley league. Calvary Murrieta is ranked 5th in the Division.
