HS Girls Soccer: Paloma Valley Crushes Chula Vista 10-0 in the Division 4 Southern California Regional Opener

The Wildcats have Shutout Opponents in an Amazing 15 Consecutive Games

Paloma Valley dominated in their opening round game of the Division 4 Southern California Regional Tournament Tuesday afternoon. The Wildcats scored four times in the first 20 minutes against first round opponent Mater Dei Catholic from Chula Vista. They would end up winning 10-0.

Paloma Valley’s defense also continued their scoreless streak, containing and shutting out the Crusaders attack. The Wildcats would notch it’s 15th consecutive shutout. This is an amazing feat, especially with 13 coming in the CIF Southern Section Playoffs.

The Wildcats were led by Megan Dallin who scored 3 goals in the first 17 minutes of the game Dallin now has 54 goals for the season. Miale Jones had two goals and two assists and Mackenzie Ott scored twice. Payton Whitcomb, Correnyn Barackman and Ashley Brokaw also scored for the Wildcats.

Goalkeeper Paulina Pimentel was exceptional once again. She left the game with a bad cut over her right eye after making a sliding save on Veronica Grace Molina‘s shot.

In another CIF Regional Playoff match, Temecula Valley beat Scrips Ranch 3-1 in the Division 2 Tournament.

Paloma Valley advances in the playoffs to face Westminster on Thursday, March 8 at 4pm. The Lions are 22-4-3 and won Tuesday’s game against Kingsbury in a shoot out after battling to a 1-1 tie.
