HS Girls Soccer: Temecula Valley & Paloma Valley Qualify for the CIF State Southern California Regional Playoffs


The Two CIF Southern Section Champions are Ready for the Battle for the State Championship

Temecula Valley won the 2018 Division 2 Title in the CIF Southern Section Championship Playoffs last week. Paloma Valley was the Division 4 Champion. Now, both teams move on to compete in the CIF State Southern California girls soccer regional playoffs that start today.

Temecula Valley, who won the Southern Section’s Division 2 title and have a 23-6-2 record will host San Diego’s Scripps Ranch round one on Tuesday. Scripps Ranch is 13-9-2 and is the winner of the San Diego Section’s Division 1 Championship.

Paloma Valley is still unbeaten this season with a record of 24-0-3 and is the Southern Section’s Division 4 Champion. They did not give up a goal inthe CIF Championship Playoffs. The Wildcats are home to host Mater Dei Catholic from Chula Vista in today’s opener. Mater Dei Catholic has a 16-5-2 record and is the San Diego Section’s Division 4 Champion.

Three other Inland Empire girls soccer teams are playing in the were Southern California Regional Playoffs. They are Upland, Centennial and Rialto.
