The Golden Bears’ Morgan Witz Scores the Lone Goal against Sunny Hills as Temecula Crowned Regional State Champions

It has been a magical season for the Temecula Valley Girls Soccer team. The Golden Bears won the CIF Southern Section Division 2 Championship last week…yesterday they won the Division 2 Regional State Championship.

“I could not be more proud of this group of girls. We set goals and we met them one step at a time” said Temecula Valley coach Jennifer Guinn. The bar was set and this group would rise to meet it. Very excited for my players, and the memories they have created together. From goalkeeping through the field, to my sideline, my coaching staff, and all the Bear fans! TVHS is so very Proud across the board, and this is all of our title”.

Temecula Valley freshman Morgan Witz scored the lone goal of the game against Sunny Hills in the 15th minute. She scored on a deflected shot in front of goal and knocked it in what turned out to be the game winner.

Temecula had a 26-6-2 record this season. The Golden Bears had a remarkable record this year…they were unbeaten at home

The Golden Bears goal keeper Kailee Madwell was stellar. The junior recorded three saves in the contest. Senior Emiliee Garrett’s defensive effort shut down the Lancer attack in the second half.

“I’m so proud of these girls and everything that this team represents,” said Coach Guinn. “They set a legacy for our school and our program, and I’m so excited to see what the future holds for this young team.”
