HS Girls Water Polo: Murrieta Valley Breezes by Vista Murrieta 18–3 Wednesday Night

Sophomore Maryn Dempsey Scores Six Goals to lead the Nighthawks

The Murrieta Valley Girls Water Polo team breezed by the Vista Murrieta Broncos with an 18–3 win on Wednesday night. It was the Nighthawks second consecutive Southwestern league victory. Murrieta Valley beat Chaparral 13-4 on Monday.

Murrieta Valley jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first period and never looked back. The Nighthawks scored 5 more goals in the second period, 3 in the third and back to 5 for the final frame. Vista Murrieta scored one in the second and another in the third period.

The Nighthawks were led by sophomore Maryn Dempsey who put 6 goals into the net. Senior Taylor Hensley and junior Isabelle Ritter each scored 3 goals for Murrieta Valley.

Freshmen Sophia Sollie and Avery Wood both scored 2 goals while junior Janelle Holloman and senior Jenna Sawyer put one each into the net. Freshman Tyanna Schneider had an outstanding game as goal keeper.
